Sound and moving images

An artist-run exhibition space, project room and residency on Tåsinge, Denmark

About the residency

Vårø Contemporary is an exhibition space, project room, and artist residency dedicated to sound and moving images.

A place where artists can research, create, and present work in an environment built with care and curiosity. Born from a shared passion for experimental practice, it is a labour of love on the island of Tåsinge, Denmark.

Autumn 2026

This autumn, Vårø Contemporary has invited Norwegian textile artist Kristin Jørgenvåg and Danish musician TIKKI to work with one of the space's founders, visual artist Mina Paasche, for a series of working sessions in the project room, developing a multi-sensory audiovisual art installation for an upcoming event at Harders in Svendborg and INSULA at Samsø.

Residency

Time, space, and stillness

A stay at Vårø Contemporary offers artists time, space, and stillness. We are artist-run, and our residency reflects that — hands-on, personal, and built around what artists actually need.
